Matthew Tabakman Overview
Attorney Matthew P. Tabakman brings to the firm his significant experience in pursuing property insurance and personal injury claims on behalf of clients. Having practiced law in Central Florida since 2002, Matt represents individuals and small businesses in disputes with their insurance carriers, and he is happy to represent people who have been injured through the negligence of others. For many years, Matt was an insurance defense attorney on behalf of insurance carriers in these same types of cases, so now he is proud to utilize his defense experience on behalf of his plaintiff clients.
Areas of Practice
Matt concentrates his practice on litigating property insurance claims on behalf of homeowners and small business throughout Florida, as well as personal injury claims on behalf of those injured through the negligence of others. Matt also has significant experience representing debtors in bankruptcy matters, counseling estate planning clients, and handling probate cases. He is admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts in Florida, as well as in the District of Columbia and the State of New York.
Education
Matt received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and he went on to earn a master’s degree in international affairs from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Matt received his Juris Doctorate at the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2001. During law school, he competed on the nationally recognized Moot Court Team and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Walter Komanski (retired) of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Orlando.
Personal
In Matt’s spare time, he dedicates his efforts to various community and civil rights organizations, and he also enjoys traveling, home improvement projects, and spending time with his lab retriever, Maggie.
